That fraud warning text or call may not be from your bank.

Across the country, cybercriminals are gaining access to bank accounts by spoofing text messages and phone calls regarding suspicious debit card transactions or transfers through Zelle®. Here are five ways you can protect your bank account and personal information:

  1. Familiarize yourself with Zelle policies related to fraud protection
  1. Read text messages closely — ignore those from institutions where you do not have accounts or those that do not make sense
  1. Remember that 1st Century Bank’s fraud alerts come from our parent company, MidFirst Bank, and look like this
  1. Login information, such as usernames, passwords and any one-time codes or other authentication is confidential and should not be shared with anyone
  1. Remember: While we may ask you for information to confirm your identity, no one from 1st Century Bank will ever ask you for login information or authentication codes
