Richard Rothenberg

Richard is a Managing Director of Business Development with 1st Century Bank. In 2003, he served as a founder, investor and capital fundraiser for the bank, and came onboard as an employee the following year. He uses his expert networking skills to bring in new investors and clients.

Prior to joining 1st Century Bank, Richard worked as a lawyer for various firms, a business development executive for the Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. Online Division, and a senior financial analyst with the Walt Disney Company Consumer Products Division. 

His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in American civilization, history and culture from Brown University, a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Southern California.

He is actively involved in raising funds and awareness for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, where he has served as a founding member (now emeritus) of its Patient Council since 2006. From 2013 to 2023, Richard served as a commissioner for the City of Los Angeles Commission on Disability.

Richard resides in Los Angeles with his wife Julie and their identical twin daughters, Rosie and Ava. He also has two adult children — Oliver, who works in the high tech sector in Portland, Ore., and Marty, who is a recent graduate of Mount Holyoke College.
