Oklahoma City, OK — MidFirst Bank, the largest privately owned bank in the United States, today announced that Todd Dobson has been named Chief Executive Officer effective July 1.
Dobson succeeds G. Jeffrey (Jeff) Records, Jr., whose 40-year career at MidFirst and almost 30-year leadership as CEO established the foundation for the Bank’s successful growth from $4 billion to over $40 billion in assets. Dobson’s career with the Bank spans over 30 years, with more than 20 years as Chief Financial Officer and more recently as President for the past seven years.
Guided by Records’ visionary leadership, integrity, commitment to customers and dedication to excellence, MidFirst’s experienced senior leadership team has built a strong, stable, and profitable organization. Records’ impact on the Bank’s culture is embedded in everything from the strategic and thoughtful decision making, to the respect and appreciation demonstrated to colleagues and customers every day.
Jeff Records, who will remain as Chairman of the Board, stated “Todd has been a valuable executive as CFO and now President for many years. His elevation to CEO has long been the succession plan and as Co-CEO Scott Smith and I step back from our roles, we are grateful to Todd for his impact on the growth and performance of the Bank and look forward to his continuing leadership.” Records continued, “I am also grateful for Scott’s contributions over the past three years and that he will stay on as Vice Chairman until the end of this year to ensure the smoothest possible transition.”
“It is an honor to follow in the footsteps of Jeff under whose leadership I have worked for my entire MidFirst career,” said Dobson. “We have a long history of success at MidFirst and are well-positioned to sustain that performance. The opportunities ahead of us are exciting, and we will work hard to continue that legacy in the coming years. We have a strong team of more than 3,200 providing quality service to our customers and communities, which has long been our formula for success.”
